Kids Block Printing - Series

This class is an introduction to relief printmaking. This printmaking technique is when you plan an image and bring it to life by removing only the space you don’t want printed with a gouge. It’s a fun mental exercise and requires planning and careful intentional execution to get the desired results.

We’ll be learning how this process works, then planning and creating multiple print blocks over the course of 6 sessions. This will give everyone time to explore this unique medium and have multiple chances to try different styles of image.

The last class we’ll welcome the grown ups to a little gallery opening featuring a layout on our big table to display some of our favorite work along with some light snacks and drinks to celebrate their hard work like the real artists they are.

This workshop is for 4th grade and up, and we will be using sharp tools called gouges.

This is the type of tool we will be using
